Trying to understand credit card holds
I’m having trouble understanding how credit card charges/onboard spending is handled on Royal Caribbean. Do they charge you at sea every time you buy something? If so do you need to have a travelers card to avoid fees from your bank? Or do they place holds on your account before the cruise? How much do they place? I reach that for cruises 6+ days they apply a $500 hold but what if you go over that amount onboard?
