Roatan, Honduras – seems like the best thing to do is not to leave the gated port area?
I was pretty excited to dock in Honduras initially before I read up on Roatan. RCL docks in Coxen Hole, which reportedly has very little beyond some tourist trap shops inside the port. It seems like this island is quite poor and may be a bit seedy to travel. I am going with family, a bit risk averse with 2 younger children (7 and 10). Seems like this might be a quick spin through the tourist trap and back on the ship for some pool action. Yay or nay? submitted by /u/constantino2 [link] [comments]
