Seward prior to Alaska cruise – worth the cost?
My husband and I are going to Alaska (southbound) in July. Our current plans include the paddle+hike on Mendenhall Glacier and a whale watch in Vancouver, mostly to see Orcas. (we’re from metro-Boston so we’re a bit spoiled with humpback whales). We’re looking at flying into Anchorage a day early to kayak Kenai Fjords in Seward before our cruise, but it’ll be an extra $1,000+ between accommodations and the excursion (currently looking at an all Aialik Glacier kayak). Is it really worth the extra cost since we’ll be paddling and hiking Mendenhall? We’re torn because we love adventure and want
