Trying to "gift" a cruise like one I went on (or similar). Price is MORE THAN DOUBLE now than it was when I went. How can I find good deals, or what am I doing wrong?
Wife and I went on a 12-night cruise around the British Isles in June. The ship was the Royal Princess (Princess Cruise Lines). We paid, pre-taxes and fees, $1,928. Out-the-door, it was $2,962. Now, when I look at the same itinerary with the same cruise line, the price is $2,600 PER PERSON BEFORE TAXES/FEES! I’m trying to sort out a present for my aging parents, and, well, I’m having trouble. Any ideas why the price is nearly triple what I paid a few months ago?
