Staying connected at sea?
Do people usually just wait till they’re in port & connect to the local country’s mobile network via either local SIM bought there or roaming, or does ship-based WiFi & mobile data exist & work well enough for some basic stuff? Do ship-specific SIM cards exist? Do private islands use the host country’s cellular network? What do those of you who actually needed data (software devs who need to check stuff at times, for instance) do on stuff like Repositioning Cruises with lots of days straight at sea? submitted by /u/mobileagnes [link] [comments]
