Looking For A Great Cruise Holiday?

Really close with my other half in booking a December cruise with our girls, aged 9 and 7. Love the idea of doing a Christmas cruise but have some questions for those who have experienced it. We’re looking at a Carnival cruise December 7-14 date with because it’s 1/3rd the cost of going the actual week of Christmas. It appears they have all the decorations up all month, is that really the case? Are there any Christmas specific events onboard aside from those on Christmas Eve/Day?
